Kosovo Government decided to develop a centralized portal for all central government body and local government (municipalities). The technology to be used and deadline for this was crucial. Tens of national and international competitors and we were selected because of experience in Microsoft Technology standards.
Challenge and goal:
- Design and implement network architecture for government datacenter
- Design SharePoint web application allowing all web applications from ministries to be hosted
- Make secure environment - Develop application for civil registration
- Develop application for driving license registration
- Develop application for requests accessing official documents
Solution
It all begun with designing core network architecture based on Cisco routers and switches, and servers based on Microsoft technology. We configured a SharePoint server that provides ability to host all web applications from other ministries. We developed all application requested based on SharePoint web parts and MS Sql Server. Result This project centralized all government websites and applications and all citizens of Kosovo now can find any information easily. Also they can apply and check if the document requested is ready to be taken without need to go physically at offices.
